This reporrt constitutes the first isolation of Yersinia ruckeri in Turkey. The organism was isolated from farmed rainbow trout in south Anatolia. Affected fish had exophthalmus, haemorrhages in the eyes and widespread haemorrhagic lesions in internal organs, but haemorrhages in the buccal cavity were absent. The origin of the infection is not known.
