First isolation of Aeromonas salmonicida in turbot( Psetta maxima ), reared along the Atlantic coast of France, is reported. Although the turbot suffered mortalities, it is not certain that Aeromonas salmonicida was the cause. The origin of the bacterium is considered to be from coho salmon which were introduced to the farm and suffered an outbreak of furunculosis some months earlier.
