Serious problems concerning disease, antibiotic treatment, antibiotic resistance and hygiene have occurred during the development of production of rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri) in seawater. This paper deals with the disease problems in a specific mariculture farm and the prophylactic measures to be recommended in preventing especially furunculosis caused by Aeromonas salmonicida .
