Bacterial kidney disease (BKD) was found in salmonids of 13 fish farms and 5 open water systems in Germany. The fish were of the genera Salmo, Oncorhynchus, Salvelinus and Hucho. This is the first report of BKD in Hucho hucho and S. alpinus .
