Abstract

This paper characterises the first isolate of Yersinia ruckeri from rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in Northern Ireland. The isolate was similar to those previously reported and proved highly pathogenic to rainbow trout fingerlings. No clinical disease was detected on the farm and epidemiological studies did not reveal the origin of the isolate.
