Baculovirus panaei Couch has been previously reported from two species of penaeid shrimp, P. duorarum Burkenroad and P. aztecus Ives, from eastern Gulf of Mexico waters; and from two species, P. vannamei Boone and P. stylirostris Stimpson, of cultured shrimp on the eastern Pacific coastline (Lightner 1983a). This communication reports the occurrence of B. penaei in an additional host species, Penaeus marginatus Randall, and geographical area, Hawaii.
