The diagnosing of infectious pancreatic necrosis in Danish trout farms is described, together with some epizootiological studies which have shown that the IPN virus was brought into the country with foreign trout eggs several years before the first cases of IPN were observed here. A possible explanation of this phenomomenon is given, and some measures for the control of the disease in Denmark are discussed.
