Histopathology Workshop

Cefas Weymouth Laboratory, UK: 19 - 23 May 2008

Microscope slideFollowing the successful workshop held in 2006, Cefas have organised the 2nd Cefas Histopathology Workshop. 

The workshop took place at the Cefas Laboratory, Weymouth, UK during May 2008. The workshop placed significant emphasis on "hands-on" practical training and the diagnosis of diseases and pathological changes.  The workshop covered many aspects of disease and pathology in fish and shellfish including: 

  • Salmonids
  • Cyprinids
  • Mariculture spp. and wild marine fish pathology
  • Molluscs
  • Crustacea 

The workshop focused on practical demonstrations and examination of prepared slides. In addition to histopathology, other areas included are histological techniques, laboratory tours and  "break-out" sessions.
