Bass Tag Lottery Prize Draw was held on 29 June 2003 at the Dorset Fish Festival, Weymouth.

In addition to the £6 reward paid to each person who reports a bass tag to Cefas or Defra, a tag lottery draw for a £500 prize was made at this years Weymouth & Portland Fish Festival on 29th June. The numbers of all bass tags reported since January 1st 2000 were entered into the draw, which was made by Mayor of Weymouth, whilst he and the Mayoress visited the Cefas stand. Our thanks to them for their support. The lucky winner, to whom we offer our congratulations, was Mr J Moorhouse of Barnsley, who caught his tagged bass during a fishing trip to Co. Kerry in Ireland. Each tag returned provides valuable information to scientists and the recent experiment has revealed new information about the extent of bass movement around the UK, Ireland and France.
