Change of Leadership in Cefas
Cefas is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Farrar as our new Chief Executive. Mark Farrar, has been appointed as Chief Executive, replacing Dr Peter Greig-Smith who helped to steer the organisation through the change to executive agency status in 1997. Mr Farrar was formerly Finance and Resource Director and has been with Cefas for four years. He is a chartered accountant with experience of several commercial sectors, has a degree in oceanography, and has spent time on Fishery Protection duties while serving in the Royal Navy. Jonathan Dawe has joined Cefas as its new Finance and Resource Director. Jonathan is a qualified chartered accountant, with many years’ experience of working internationally in the commercial sector.
