Tier 1 - Toxicity Screening

  • Aim: provide hazard data for a simple risk assessment
  • Quick and inexpensive toxicity screening
  • 2 test methods (1 algae and 1 invertebrate) per effluent screening event
  • “abbreviated” tests accepted by the EA – fewer test concentrations and replicates than standard tests
