Marine Fish Disease Surveys

Title: Marine Fish Disease Surveys
IARN: AF001-0000012
Identifier:
Description: Twenty nine surveys carried out. Since 1991 the surveys have been annual, following ICES recommendations for Standardised Disease Monitoring. Otherwise earlier less detailed surveys were made, usually, in conjunction with other CEFAS cruise work. Dab have been the main target fish species model for recording and comparing trends and other prevalences. Diseases of other commercial fish were recorded when sufficient samples were obtained. Raw disease data are recorded on Station Sheets, with summaries of disease prevalence distribution on maps. Most data have been forwarded to ICES, or presented in AEM-Reports, published papers and other articles. Special attention has been given to histological data on liver anomalies in flatfish.
