Update on works - January 2019
Works are progressing well and the frame work for our new building is almost complete. The current schedule expects the new building to be complete early October 2019, with occupation by staff during October. Demolition of The Grand Hotel and Experimental Block, followed by landscaping and car park completion will start in November 2019 and go through to the end of April 2020.
The Centre for the Environment, Fisheries & Aquaculture Science (Cefas) held the first of two public consultation meetings on Monday 12th June 2017 (14:00 to 19:30).
Presentations were led by the Cefas project team and our architects and first concept design proposals were on display along with images of our current buildings. The posters can be viewed here and FAQs here. At the end of the presentations there was an opportunity to give your feedback, and ask questions. Feedback forms were available along with details of an online survey that was open until the 16th June 17. All contributions were considered within the next stage of the design process. No final decision on the redevelopment proposal will be made until autumn 2017. Feedback from the first consultation can be found here.
The second consultation meetings were held on Friday 30th June 2017, at the Lowestoft laboratory, Pakefield Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk, NR33 0HT. New plans were on display. The online survey closed on Wednesday 5th July 2017.
A review of the public consultation has been carried out.
