Sourcing of Chemicals used in Registered Products
For suppliers registering products with Cefas:
If the source of one of your components changes,
- Please ensure that the component that you now receive is still described accurately by the information you provide on the HOCNF for your product. Changes to the nature of the substance will require a rename of the product.
- If the PBT data you provide is obtained under a Letter of Access, ensure that the data covered by the LOA is still valid for the component that is actually used in your product. Changes to the nature of the substance will require a rename of the product AND the LOA will become invalid.
If you supply a chemical to another supplier:
- Please ensure that your customer is made aware of any changes to the nature of the chemical supplied. Changes to the nature of the chemical will require a rename of the customer's product.
- If you provide the customer with PBT data under a Letter of Access, ensure that the LOA is valid for the chemical actually supplied to the customer.
Particular attention should be paid to such changes if they involve a) polymers b) UVCB substances or c) other complex mixtures
