Workshop on the improvement of the OECD 306 screening test - Update
At the Cefas (Centre for Environment, Fisheries & Aquaculture Science) laboratories, Lowestoft, UK on the 17th and 18th February 2015.
Following the successful workshop that was held in February in conjunction with the Cefic LRI project, we wanted to send out an update to participants and other interested parties in order to ensure that everyone is aware of current progress towards the organisation of a ring test of the improved method. We have received a number of enquiries from participants who were keen to ensure that they did not miss out on the ring test, and we would like to reassure everyone that this will not happen. However, various items need to be put in place first, before this work can be progressed.
The organising committee of the workshop met up at the recent SETAC meeting in Barcelona, and discussed how the ring test should be organised. Funding arrangements are currently being negotiated with a view to appointing a co-ordinator for the test programme, and once this is set up we anticipate that the finalisation of the test protocol, participating laboratories and test substances will be made.
A report of the workshop is in preparation, and will appear on the ecetoc web site as soon as it is completed.
