Using the Cefas Data Hub
The Cefas Data Hub (http://data.cefas.co.uk) includes many features to help you make the most of the data we have made available. The main features are listed below with instructions on their use, please contact email@example.com if you have any further queries.
Searches are all based only on the content of metadata records that are held on the Cefas Data Hub. They will not search the contents of individual datasets.
The basic search on the homepage is text based only, it will return results in order according to how many times the text is used anywhere within the metadata record.
The advanced search has multiple elements, as described below. Each element you include will be added to search.
By default, any text entered in the Criteria box will search all fields of the metadata record. You can also chose to search only within the Title, Description or Lineage fields.
Most metadata records will have at least one descriptive keyword. Scroll down the full list on the right hand side or use the Available Keywords filter to find the keywords you are interested in searching for, then click on the + button to add them to the selected keywords list.
Clicking on the black square will let you draw a box to search for any metadata records extents that overlap with that location. The edit button below will let you change the size and shape of the box you have drawn and the delete button will let you remove it from the search.
Within Date Range
Select the date field you wish to search on and then select the relevant from and to dates you are interested in searching between.
You can choose to order the keywords list alphabetically or by the number of times they have been used in metadata records.
Clicking on the keyword will take you to a list of all metadata records that contain it.
