Abstract

This communication reports the pathological findings in esturine mullet( Mugil cephalus )from extensive outbreaks of dermal ulceration in south-east Queensland, Australia during 1972-1974. A description is given of the phycomycotic lesions, the cause of which the authors speculate was probably a member of the Family Saprolegniaceae, although the fungus was not cultured from the lesions. The primary cause of the disease could not be concluded.
