Viral haemorrhagic septicaemia and infectious pancreatic necrosis viruses were isolated from organs of diseased rainbow trout fingerlings from one trout farmer in Lower Saxony. Identification was achieved by the fluorescent antibody technique. By adding specific antisera to inocula both viruses could be grown separately.
