Clinical occurrence of furunculosis in British Columbia aquaculture systems is becoming more frequent as increasing numbers of finfish culturists shift their focus toward production of Atlantic salmon( Salmo salar ). Furunculosis is an endemic disease seen in many freshwater and saltwater aquaculture systems. presentation and clinical signs of disease among affected fish stocks consistently follow various stressful husbandry and environmental events. Increasing disease prevalence, limited therapeutant availability and development of antibiotic resistance by Aeromonas salmonicida demand that we improve husbandry techniques and search for better control "tools".
