Infectious pancreatic necrosis (IPN) virus was isolated during an epizootic among southern flounder (Paralichthys lethostigma). The southern flounder isolate is a serotype Ab of IPN virus as indicated by its serological characteristics, range of cell culture susceptibility, and relative avirulence for fry of brook trout( Salvelinus fontinalis ).
