The isolation of Yersinia ruckeri from diseased farmed rainbow trout is reported for the first time in Spain. Diseased fish had lesions recognised as characteristic for ERM. Antibiogram data showed the bacteria were highly sensitive to flumequine and colistin. Treatment of fish with flumequine lowered the mortality rate by 80%. three weeks later there was an outbreak again.
