The first isolation of C. psychrophila from diseased fish in Finland is reported. The bacterium was isolated from farmed rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss, average weight 10 g) in the Baltic Sea and from one freeliving rainbow trout caught in the Aura River, SW Finland. C. psychrophila was isolated from internal organs of the farmed fish but only from ulcers of the wild fish. The tested strains were morphologically and biochemically identical and they were identified as C. psychrophila
