In the present paper the susceptibility of pike (E. lucius L.) to the virus of haemorrhagic septicaemia (VHS) and the epizootiological role of VHS in pike is described. According to the course and the rate of mortality, pike-fry are more susceptible to VHS than fingerlings of rainbow trout. With increasing of age, pike become more resistant, and experimentally with VHS-virus infected pikes with ages of two years or more did not get ill. Epizootiologically important is the increase of VHS- carrier of pike with growing age; inversely the VHS-susceptibility of pike decreasis with the increase of age.
