Abstract

This note reports the results of a survey conducted in early summer 1968 to determine the existence of IPN in the 13 fish hatcheries in the Canadian Maritime Provinces. The virus was detected in young salmonids, including Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar), in 9 of the 13 fish culture stations of the Canadian Maritime Provinces. The virus was isolated in tissue culture and identified serologically.
