Ocean Country Partnership Programme
Belize is recognised as a world leader in marine protection and management. OCPP collaborations with Belize partners focus on understanding emerging threats, enhancing capabilities and increasing benefits to various communities and marine sectors. Belize has made significant strides in marine conservation being a model for marine and coastal sustainability by implementing effective technical solutions for environmental monitoring, sustainable use and management, and science to underpin sustainable finance solutions. These initiatives benefit not only local people who depende on Belize’s natural resources, but also countries that can learn from these innovations.
