Ocean Country Partnership Programme

Vanuatu’s highly diverse seascape biodiversity has resulted in a unique set of habitats which require close collaborations with the people and livelihoods dependent on them. By integrating traditional knowledge with scientific research and modern management practices, Vanuatu has made strides in preserving its marine habitats. The Ocean Country Partnership Programme (OCPP) aims to complement the already established network of existing ocean management efforts underway by communities, regional organisations, technical agencies, and non-governmental organisations to further support effective management and protection of the countries marine and coastal habitats, which are vital to protect Vanuatu livelihoods and maintain resilience of the coastal communities.

Below, you will find a selection of resources, including published papers and reports, highlighting the progress and outcomes of our work collaborating with Vanuatu and in region.
