Third International Workshop on Earthworm Ecotoxicology: Ecological, physiological and physicochemical factors in earthworm ecotoxicology

J.J Scott Fordsmand, C.A.M Van gestel J.M Weeks

The Third International Workshop in Earthworm Ecotoxicology (IWEE3) was hosted by the Institute of Terrestrial Ecology, National Environmental Research Institute (Denmark), and the Institute of Biology, University of Århus (Denmark). As for the two previous workshops, the participants came from academia, industry, and regulators, displaying a wide range of approaches to earthworm ecotoxicology and a broad interest in the discipline.

The IWEE III had four sessions with both platform and poster presentations. In conjunction with this, three miniworkshop sessions were organized to integrate and further develop the most prominent problems in earthworm ecotoxicology.

The presentations were centered on the sessions "Molecular, Biochemical, and Physiological Effects" (Session 1), "Individual and Population Effects" (Session 2), "Field and Semifield Studies" (Session 3), and "Soil Quality and Risk Assessment" (Session 4). Each of the sessions showed a wide range of approaches to the topic
