Brief summary: The paper summarises available data for eelpout from trawl surveys conducted in the North Sea, in order to gauge the recent temporal trends in their occurrence and relative abundance. These data are discussed in relation to those factors that may affect eelpout populations, with particular emphasis on the western and southern coasts of the North Sea, including East Anglia
