Growth of 0-group shanny Lipophrys pholis (Family Blennidae) on the Suffolk coast
- Publication Abstract
-
Shanny, or common blenny, Lipophrys pholis (Linnaeus, 1758), formerly known as Blennius pholis, is a common intertidal and shallow sublittoral fish species occurring on rocky shores and other hard substrates. Regular sampling of fish from Walberswick (see Ellis, 2023) provided numbers at length of shanny over the summer months for four successive years (2022–2025), with sampling undertaken at low water during spring tides.
