Session 1: Nature Recovery

Session Abstract
A step-change is needed to recover nature at scale and ensure a thriving society into the future. Therein lies a critical challenge. Nature recovery can only be achieved if our interventions are effective in the face of a shifting baseline caused by climate change. In marine ecosystems, a key barrier to advancing and evaluating nature recovery interventions is the lack of agreement among diverse stakeholders on what evidence is needed and how to act on it. We will use a pre-conference Delphi questionnaire to find areas of consensus and disagreement among delegates on the state of, and means to recover, marine ecosystems. Speakers will then provide a compelling backdrop to provoke debate and generate ideas before an interactive session to draw together conclusions from our collective thinking.
