The interactions between human and environmental health in the context of water health are complex and multifaceted. Ensuring clean water for humans and a healthy environment for aquatic animals and plants requires a holistic approach which recognises interconnectedness of the catchment to marine environments and considers the impact of human activities on ecosystems and the subsequent effects on the health of humans and other organisms.  This session will explore what is required to achieve that balance, ranging from drinking water safety, improving wastewater management, environmental quality assessment and management, innovation in data acquisition and integration, community engagement to restore coastal and marine habitats, and supporting ecosystem health.
