The search for Premiam Network members is launched

28 October 2010

A core element of the Premiam project is to establish a network of experts and service providers that can be easily and promptly mobilised in the immediate period following a marine chemical or oil spill.

These services will range from analytical chemistry, ecotoxicology, sampling and ecological surveys through to the provision of the vessels from which samples can be collected and facilities in which they can be stored.

As from today Cefas staff will be proactively seeking to engage potential network members and to ask them to fill out a form to indicate what services they would be able to provide. As well as an indication of service/expertise the forms will allow the gathering of important information such as geographical area covered, availability and appropriate accreditation/certification. This information will be used to populate a database that can be used in the event of an emergency to quickly assemble the appropriate team to initiate an effective impact assessment and monitoring programme.

If you would like to formally register your interest in being available as part of the Premiam network please contact premiam@cefas.co.uk
